CSV imports and fees

Templates, duplicates, unknown funding and net results.

Supported format

Use UTF-8 CSV with the exact header below. Each row is one already consolidated closed trade. Limit: 5 MiB and 10,000 records.

trade_id,symbol,direction,opened_at,closed_at,realized_pnl,fee_cashflow,funding_cashflow

Use uppercase USDT symbols such as BTCUSDT, long or short for direction, and ISO8601 timestamps with a time zone.

Amounts and cash-flow signs

realized_pnl is trade P&L before fees and funding. Payments are negative and receipts positive in fee_cashflow and funding_cashflow. Use 0 only for a known zero. Fees cannot be blank; leave unknown funding blank.

Use plain decimal numbers without currency symbols, grouping or scientific notation. Do not import an already net-of-fees result as realized_pnl and deduct the same costs twice.

Net result

Complete net result = trade P&L + fee cash flow + attributed funding cash flow.

For example: 100 + (−8) + (−3) = 89 USDT. Unknown funding is not zero: the partial result is excluded from complete net P&L and win rate.

Duplicates and conflicts

An identical record with the same trade_id is skipped. A changed record with the same ID rejects the entire import, keeping existing data and notes. Automatic trade replacement and raw-fill consolidation are not supported yet.

Choose a data source

Before importing a real CSV, choose a source in the searchable bottom sheet. The API provides names and icons for 50 exchanges from the CoinGecko spot Trust Score snapshot of 2026-10-18. If yours is missing, enter a custom name and choose an icon. Cached sources and custom entry work offline. A source labels records; use the TradeNote standard CSV template. Sources travel with backups. Legacy records without a source are not automatically merged; check existing data before importing.

Screenshot recognition and review

  1. Choose a source and Import screenshot, then select one PNG/JPEG from the system Photos or Files picker.
  2. Recognition runs on-device without automatic image upload. Recognized fields are an unsaved draft.
  3. Compare the image and tap source, symbol, direction, times, P&L and fees to edit. A buy is not necessarily long, and unrealized P&L is not realized trading P&L.
  4. Fill required fields. Unknown funding may remain incomplete; never default missing fees to zero. Explicitly acknowledge the review before saving.
  5. After saving, you can review and correct the record again. Corrections require Save and retain reviews and images. CSV import success also keeps a review entry.

The first version handles one image and one closed trade per import, up to 6 MiB and 24 MP. Unclear images need manual completion. Reimporting an identical image does not overwrite corrections; a conflicting source must be checked first.

Multiple images and system sharing

Quick capture accepts up to four PNG/JPEG images, each up to 6 MiB and 24 MP. The inbox holds up to 20 images and 50 MiB of originals. Images stay on this device; edit recognition candidates before saving. Conflicting sources or key fields block merging. Images are separate by default and can be linked only with explicit confirmation. Choose a source, add a note and verify before booking; remaining images stay in the inbox.

Sharing and permissions

Android accepts system image sharing. The iOS Share Extension requires iOS 14 or later and matching App Group provisioning for device distribution. Open TradeNote after saving in the extension to continue verification. Receiving never books a trade automatically or monitors Photos or the clipboard. Recognition stays on device. Voice and AI notes are not enabled.

Screenshot examples

Choose Binance or OKX, web or mobile, in the Screenshot examples bottom sheet. Four format illustrations use fictional trade data and are not exchange statements. Tap the image for full-screen pinch/double-tap zoom and drag; close to keep your selection. Export the selected PNG through system sharing. Neither action imports a trade. Verify fields and costs before any actual import.

Smart file import and AI mappings (development)

Development version 0.13 adds Import → Smart file import for UTF-8 CSV/TSV text. Content detection handles comma, tab, semicolon and pipe tables, up to 5 MiB / 10,000 rows. Excel, PDF, archives, remote URLs and non-UTF-8 files are not supported.

Map unfamiliar headers manually, or enable online assistance and activate this installation to use DeepSeek. Review each shared column: only approved headers, fixed type profiles and sample counts are sent, never the source file or raw cell values. Common sensitive columns start excluded; review headers even after masking. AI fills only selected unmapped fields, preserves manual choices and cannot invent or compute amounts.

Verify source/account alias, closed USDT perpetual position granularity, time zone, gross/net basis and fee signs. Review records individually before importing. Original cells remain separate from edited values. Missing funding stays unknown. Cancellation, failure and resume do not automatically generate another paid task; repeated requests reuse the same task. Development capabilities may not yet be included in the public APK.

Automatic screenshot recognition (development build)

Edit or redact images in the preview. Confirming opens Images to review. If intelligent assistance is effectively enabled and available, edited compressed screenshots are sent automatically to DeepSeek for recognition. Disabled or unavailable assistance creates no AI task; on-device recognition remains. Cancelling the preview sends nothing.

Results appear as separate records on the same page. Tap a record to select its source and review direction, time and fees; only explicit saving books it. The standalone Screenshot AI page and button are removed. Manual edits are preserved. Leaving or backgrounding cancels unfinished recognition without automatically resending.

Review fees directly on each trade

Enter trading fees and funding when importing or reviewing a trade. Missing funding remains unknown; enter zero only after verifying there was no funding cashflow. Correct errors in trade details; correction history is preserved.

The fee pool, separate cashflow entry and allocation flow have been removed. Legacy records remain in backups for traceability, without generating allocation tasks or reverting saved trade amounts.
